Step back in time to the Romantic age of Geoffrey Chaucer at the Second annual Acadiana Medieval Faire. The Acadiana Medieval faire is a recreation of a medieval spring market faire similar to those found during the late gothic period of continental Europe. Historically these faires were seasonal and most towns had at least two a year. The spring faire season also marked the beginning of the pilgrimage season. On your visit to the Acadiana Medieval Faire your will encounter lively characters from Chaucer's Canterbury Tales on their journey to the shrine of St. Thomas a Becket. Delight in their tales as you shop in a unique medieval-style market place, listen to authentic early music, watch a show from the Middle Ages, or delight in the spicy food that is the trade mark of Cajun Country.
